Major Achievements

 

  • The first to apply the initiatives of the Executive Office of the Cabinet

  • One of the first officials who provided feedback on the implementation of the initiatives of the Executive Office of the Cabinet, which provides advice on the mechanisms of improvement and development.

Achievements in the authorities headed by his Excellency:

 

Sheikh Zayed Housing Program

  • Sheikh Zayed Housing Program won the “Distinguished federal entity in Strategic Planning” and “Distinguished federal entity in Knowledge Management” awards at the first session of the Sheikh Khalifa government excellence program in 2009.
  • The Ministry of Public Works was chosen in 2010 as best authority in achieving highest levels of performance at the level of ministries, and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program as best authority in achieving the desired level at the institutions level.
  • Sheikh Zayed Housing Program was awarded many awards including the Five Star Service Excellence Award.
  • Sheikh Zayed Housing Program won first title among the federal institutions in 2008 and 2009.
  • Launch of the Launching the unified housing Gate.

 

 

Ministry of public works

  • Developing of Remote areas and improving the Infrastructure in the North Emirates.
  • Issuing a Federal Law, to organize the ownership of federal houses in UAE.
  • First position among all the UAE Ministries, in achieving the strategic performance indicators in 2008 & 2009
  • The Excellence award in Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Program for Ministry with less than 900 employees, in 2010.
  • His Excellency launched in 2011 the “Geographic Information System”, listing the federal projects implemented by the Ministry of Public Works, in addition to the “Electronic Project” aimed at achieving effective management of construction projects in the Ministry, to achieve excellence and efficiency in the various areas of work.
  • His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan adopted the “Green Lab” project within the policy and mechanisms of applying sustainability criteria in the Ministry.

 

 

National Transport Authority

  • Establishing the Union Railway Company and the Neutral Auditing System.
  • The National Transport Authority achieved high inspection rates in 2010 where it achieved a 93.54% rate.
  • The National Transport Authority has achieved outstanding results in the level of strategic performance indicators of the strategic plan compared with other Federal Government Authorities. In terms of the Strategic Plan of the Federal Government in its first cycle 2008 – 2010 the NTA has achieved a performance result of 88% in year 2008 compared with the average overall performance of the Federal Government Authorities at that time was 75.8%. Moreover, the NTA has achieved a performance result of 90.78% in year 2009 compared with the average overall performance of the Federal Government Authorities at that time was 67.07%.Thus the NTA has ranked the third in terms of performance at the level of Federal Government Authorities for the year 2009 and the NTA performance rate is expected to increase in the years 2010 and 2011.
  • The NTA got the International Specification Standard ISO 9001:2000, after the launch of the Quality Management System where the policies, and operational processes and procedures were developed according to the highest specifications and standards.
  • The NTA was the first among the federal institutions that started implementing workshops and brainstorming sesssions in implementation of the strategic plan of 2011-2013, to ensure achieving the UAE Vision 2021, the NTA did international benchmark studies with 4 countries, which are the United States of America, Sweden, Canada and Singapore.

 

 

National Media Council

  • His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of National Media Council, launched the Unified Customer Service Charter of the Council, within the UAE Excellence Program within the framework of directions aimed at raising standards of competition and excellence in government and the private sector.
  • Formed the Coordinating Council for the National Media Council comprising the heads and directors of media outlets in the UAE, in order to enhance the transparency in the UAE.
  • His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak, chair of the National Media Council, developed the work of the Emirates News Agency, WAM and worked to restructure and develop the capabilities of its staff.

 

 

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

  • His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak established the Coordinating Council for Higher Education, to oversee implementation of the plan of development of the higher education sector, and to coordinate decisions, efforts and work in a participatory manner.
  • Launching the Innovation Pioneers Award for undergraduate and graduate students within and outside the country to support creativity and innovation, to contribute to sustainable development and the knowledge-based economy.
  • His Excellency founded the “National Committee for Scholarships and Grants Coordination”, to guide the system of scholarships and grants, and ensure complementarity and coordination between the scholarship authorities in the State.
  • His Excellency started the implementation of the comprehensive Emiratization plan of the Ministry.
  • Launch of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Smart Applications Award, in line with the directives of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and in line with the Government’s vision.
  • Launch of the first phase of the Electronic Portal, which includes an integrated system of electronic services, it includes the National Portal for Scholars and the National Scholarship Database.
  • His Excellency approved standards and rules for the equivalency of electronic learning (e-learning) certificates.

 

 

United Arab Emirates University

  • UAE University got the first position at the Arab University level, and the76th rank globally at the University level, according to the international university ranking by Times Higher Education Institution within the (BRICS) group for the year 2013-2014, on top of many international universities.

National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels

  • Danat Hotels & Resorts is the upscale hotel division of the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels that includes ownership of the InterContinental Hotel Abu Dhabi, the Intercontinental Hotel Al Ain, Danat Jebel Dhana Resort, Al Raha Beach Hotel, Abu Dhabi travel resorts that include: Tilal Liwa Hotel, Dhafra Beach Hotel, Danat Al Ain Resort and Sands Hotel.

 

 

Arady

  • Establishment of funds, such as ADPOP portfolio.
  • Landed the contract for the world’s largest on-street parking project.

 

 

Bank Al Falah – Pakistan

  • Considered the 6th largest player in the Pakistani banking sector, received an AA Entity rating for long term and A1+ (A one plus) for short term from “PACRA” a premier rating agency in Pakistan.

 

 

Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (GAMCO)

  • GAMCO became an international provider of heavy maintenance for the airline industry.
  • Instigated the transfer of Gulf Air heavy maintenance from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • Initiated the formation of a small engine repair company to provide overhaul and maintenance services on the PT-6 engines, widely used at Abu Dhabi Aviation, and many other helicopter operators, including regional police helicopters.
  • Oversaw the development of complete overhaul capability on the CF6 engines for the airline industry.
  • Coordinated the joint venture between GAMCO and Aerospecial called GAMERO, which provides for inspection and repair of fly by wire flight controls.
  • Began the industrial business wing of GAMCO by engaging Rolls Royce in a technical assistance agreement and devoting an engine shop to the oil industry for overhaul and repair of the Rolls Royce Avon engines used in the pipeline network.
  • Began the original discussions with GE for the development of a repair facility for GE Frames; heavy gas turbines used for the generation of electrical power. That group became known as Gulf Turbine Systems (GTS).
  • GAMCO won the bid for D checks on the L1011 Airborne Tankers used by the Royal Air Force.

 

In the sports field:

  • Al Ain Club won the first place in the championship at the UAE level in 76-77.
  • His Excellency adopted the (Note Clubs) project with Sheikh Mani bin Khalifa Al Maktoum in 1981, which played a significant role in dealing with a lot of topical issues.
  • Vice-President of the Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup from in 1996, obtained Silver Asia, and qualified for the Confederations Cup in Riyadh.
  • Vice-President of the General Assembly of the Football Association in 2001, which included 40 members representing all the clubs of the State.
  • Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup, in which the UAE earned the championship title for the first time in 35 years.
  • Participated in the 6th Arabian Gulf Cup (Abu Dhabi), the 7th (Muscat), the 10th (Kuwait), XI (Doha), the 12th (Abu Dhabi), the 13th (Muscat), the 16th (Kuwait), the 7th (Doha), 18th (Abu Dhabi), and the 9th (Muscat).
  • His Excellency, in May 2015, approved to support the UAE Media Association in the State, since he believes in the importance of its role in society.
